Account Settings, Opt-Outs & Product Catalogue

Overview

Operating a compliant WhatsApp Business account requires honoring customer messaging preferences, providing instant confirmation when customers opt out or opt back in, and connecting official Meta product catalogs for conversational commerce.

The Account Settings Module (/dashboard/settings/account_settings) centralizes opt-out keyword triggers, automated subscription status replies, and Meta Commerce Catalogue bindings for each connected WhatsApp Business Number.

Accessing Account Settings

  1. In the left navigation menu under Settings, select Account Settings (/dashboard/settings/account_settings).
  2. The page allows you to configure opt-out keywords, confirmation text, resubscription triggers, and Meta catalog identifiers.

1. Unsubscribe & Opt-Out Configuration

Under Meta's messaging policies and international data privacy regulations, customers must have the ability to decline promotional broadcasts at any time.

Unsubscribe Keyword

  • Field: unsubscribe_keyword
  • Default Value: STOP
  • Behavior: When an incoming customer message matches this keyword (case-insensitive), the contact is immediately added to the workspace Unsubscribe Suppression List. They are automatically excluded from all future marketing broadcasts.

Unsubscribe Confirmation Message

  • Field: unsubscribe_message
  • Default Value: "You have been unsubscribed from promotional updates. Reply START anytime to resume receiving offers."
  • Behavior: Sent automatically to the customer upon unsubscription to confirm that their preference has been honored.

2. Resubscription Configuration

Customers who previously opted out may choose to opt back in to receive appointment reminders, service alerts, or seasonal vouchers.

Resubscription Keyword

  • Field: resubscription_keyword
  • Default Value: START
  • Behavior: When an opted-out contact replies with this keyword, Wabixo automatically removes their number from the suppression list, restoring their marketing broadcast eligibility.

Resubscription Confirmation Message

  • Field: resubscription_message
  • Default Value: "Welcome back! You are now subscribed to receive our latest updates and exclusive offers."
  • Behavior: Sent immediately to greet the customer and confirm their active subscription status.

3. WhatsApp Product Catalogue ID

For businesses offering online booking, retail products, or service packages, Meta enables customers to browse an interactive storefront directly inside WhatsApp.

Connecting Your Meta Catalogue

  1. Locate your Catalogue ID inside Meta Business Suite > Commerce Manager > Catalog > Settings.
  2. Enter the numerical identifier into the Catalogue ID field in Wabixo.
  3. Click Save Account Settings.

Features Enabled by Catalogue Integration

  • Product Cards: Agents can share interactive product and service cards with images, descriptions, and pricing directly into chat conversations.
  • Multi-Product Messages: Send collections of up to 30 items for customers to view in a native WhatsApp shopping tray.
  • In-Chat Cart Checkout: Customers can add items to their WhatsApp cart and submit an order directly to your sales inbox for billing.

Best Practices for Account Settings

  1. Clear Opt-Out Confirmations: Always inform unsubscribed customers how they can re-subscribe in the future (e.g. "Reply START to opt back in").
  2. Never Ignore Manual Requests: If a customer asks to unsubscribe in natural language (e.g. "please don't message me"), agents should manually mark the contact as opted out in the contact profile.
  3. Verify Catalogue Permissions: Ensure your Meta Business Manager has granted your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) permission to access the connected catalog.
