Scheduled Broadcast Campaigns

Summary

Timing is a critical determinant of marketing campaign success on WhatsApp. Delivering messages when customers are commuting, on lunch breaks, or browsing in the evening yields substantially higher read and engagement rates than off-peak dispatches.

Wabixo's Scheduled Broadcasts Console (/dashboard/marketing/scheduled) empowers marketing teams to plan, draft, and schedule promotional outreach days or weeks in advance. Backed by an automated, minute-by-minute background queue worker (campaign-schedule-monitor), scheduled campaigns execute autonomously at the designated timestamp without requiring manual operator intervention.

Accessing Scheduled Broadcasts

  1. Log in to your Wabixo dashboard with Marketing permissions (CanAccessMarketing).
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Marketing (/dashboard/marketing).
  3. Select the Scheduled Broadcasts tab from the sidebar navigation (or navigate directly to /dashboard/marketing/scheduled).

1. Scheduling Modes & Cadences

Campaign scheduling is configured during Step 5 of the standard Broadcast Campaign Wizard:

3. Editing and Cancelling Scheduled Broadcasts

Until a scheduled campaign reaches its designated execution timestamp, administrators retain complete control:

Editing a Campaign

If campaign parameters or dates need adjustment:

  1. Locate the campaign in the Scheduled Broadcasts table.
  2. Click the Edit (Pencil) icon.
  3. The Edit Campaign Dialog opens, allowing you to:
    • Adjust template variable values and fallbacks.
    • Modify the scheduled dispatch time or cadence.
  4. Click Save Changes. The background scheduler updates the job parameters immediately.

Cancelling a Scheduled Campaign

If a promotion is called off:

  1. Click the Delete (Trash) icon on the campaign row.
  2. A confirmation dialog will prompt: "Are you sure you want to delete this scheduled broadcast? This action cannot be undone."
  3. Confirm deletion.
  4. The scheduled job is immediately purged from the dispatch queue. No conversation wallet credits are deducted.

4. Automated Background Execution Architecture

Wabixo's backend scheduling engine is engineered for resilience and high concurrency:

  1. Minute-by-Minute Monitor (* * * * *): A dedicated background cron task (checkCampaignSchedules) runs every 60 seconds on the server.
  2. Atomic Job Claiming: When current clock time reaches or passes a campaign's launch time, the worker atomically claims due schedules via database transactions to prevent duplicate dispatches.
  3. Pre-Execution Wallet Validation: Prior to transmitting messages, the worker verifies that the sending WABA account has sufficient prepaid conversation credits.
  4. Concurrent Batch Dispatch: Messages are dispatched in high-throughput worker batches complying with Meta messaging rate limits.
  5. Telemetry Hand-off: As soon as dispatch starts, the campaign transitions to Broadcasts (/dashboard/marketing/campaigns) and the Campaign Details view (/dashboard/marketing/campaigns/:id) for real-time delivery tracking.
